  • Dinner & Caroling - Wed. Dec 4 at 5:30 PM

    Dinner is at 5:30 PM and caroling starts at 6. After we carol around the neighborhood, we will come back for hot cocoa and cookies. Join us! Free family event.

  • Dinner with Friends - Thur.  dec 5 at 6:00 PM

    This Empty Nester group is always looking for new people to join.  At each biannual meeting, small groups are assigned. These small groups meet about once a month for a meal or other activity, either in a home or a restaurant, to hang out and get to know each other. If you would like to be part of Dinner with Friends, come to the biannual meeting on the first Thursday at 6:00 PM in June or December.


    Gumbo, salad, bread, rice, dessert for December's dinner - $10. 

  • the journey to bethlehem - Sat. Dec 7 at 6:00

    For those who are new to Benton Methodist, Journey to Bethlehem is our annual Christmas gift to Benton and surrounding areas. If you haven’t been through the Journey, it is postcard scenes depicting the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our actors dress in the costumes provided and they stand in a scene for 30 minute shifts (the live donkeys, sheep, and goats do not stand still but provide comic relief). This is a free event for the community.

    Chezslaughter Chocolatier Demonstration  

    Jeff Slaughter is a worship pastor and missionary to Europe.  He became a certified Belgian chocolatier in order to raise funds for his mission.  He will be teaching us about the history of chocolate and the art of creating these masterful delights.  

  • Dinner and no-bake bake-off-Wed. Dec 11 at 5:30 PM

    This is a fun event for all ages!  Dinner will be served at 5:30 and the competition begins at 6:00.  Bring your best cookie decorating skills and see how you match up against others! Prizes will be awarded!

  • Pancakes with santa-Sat. Dec 14 at 8:00 AM

    Bring your kids to enjoy pancakes with the big guy himself, Santa Claus, on Saturday, December 14 at 8:00 AM.  There will be crafts and more!  You are welcome to take pictures with Santa for some fun Christmas memories!

  • Christmas Cantata-Sun. Dec 15 at 6:00 PM

    This very special evening will involve all generations in sharing the Good News of the birth of Jesus Christ. Our children will be presenting the Christmas story through drama. You'll also enjoy musical presentations from the adult choir, children's choir, and both the adult and children's bell choirs. Our Souper Saturday group will be providing dinner afterwards, and there will be a pot-luck dessert bar as well.

    Everyone is welcome for lunch, fellowship and our special guest musician, Hannah Spataro. There may be a little surprise up our sleeve!

  • Woody's christmas party-Wed. Dec 18 at 11:00

    Come join us as we spread Christmas cheer to our friends at Woody's Home for Veterans.  

  • Christmas at Cumberland-Wed. Dec 19 at 4:15 PM

    We will be serving our friends at Cumberland Farms for a fun Christmas event featuring hot dogs, s'mores, and hot chocolate.  Please come out and help us serve! Contact Rachel at 318-935-8515 for more information. 

  • Christmas EVE communion & Candlelight-Tue. Dec 24 at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM

    Join us as we celebrate Jesus' birth with communion and a candlelight service.  The 11:00 AM service offers a children's message, communion, and candlelight.  The 5:00 PM service will be a traditional communion and candlelight service.
